Photo editor for non-designers.
Based in Portland, OR.
BeFunky was founded by Tekin Tatar and Kemal Ozisikcilar as a photo editor, collage maker, and graphic design tool aimed at non-designers — the millions of people who need to resize a photo, build a quick social graphic, or fix a blemish without launching Photoshop.
The product won by staying focused on what casual users actually need. There's no learning curve, no installation, and no monthly subscription required to do most common tasks. Over time, BeFunky added more design features and a paid tier for power users, but the core promise — easy photo editing for normal people — stayed the same.
Tiny acquired BeFunky in 2021 as part of Tiny Fund I. The company continues to operate from Portland, Oregon, with the original product team in place and a customer base measured in the millions of monthly users.
BeFunky sits in the consumer software sweet spot that Tiny actively looks for — a self-serve product that customers find on their own, sign up for in minutes, and keep using because it's genuinely easier than the alternative. There's no enterprise sales motion, no growth-hacking treadmill, just a useful tool that grows because people recommend it.
Tiny's role is to provide patient capital and operational support so the team can continue investing in the product roadmap on a multi-year horizon.
