Software development studio for hire.
Based in New York, NY.
HappyFunCorp was founded in New York by Ben Schippers and Will Schenk as a software development studio that builds products for clients ranging from early-stage startups to large enterprises. The name is deliberately disarming; the work is not. HFC's engineers have shipped products for companies including Disney, Gatorade, Samsung Health, and Twitter.
Tiny acquired HappyFunCorp in 2023 as part of its Beam operating group, which consolidates Tiny's design and engineering services businesses (alongside MetaLab). The team continued to operate from New York, kept its existing client relationships, and benefited from the cross-pollination of being part of a larger network of design and engineering studios.
HFC continues to take on client work across web, mobile, and emerging product categories, with a particular strength in early-stage prototyping and enterprise software for technical buyers.
Services businesses are tricky to own at scale, but the well-run ones share characteristics with Tiny's other holdings: high client retention, profitable from day one, and built around the reputation of a small senior team. HappyFunCorp fits that mold.
Inside Beam, HFC operates as an independent studio with its own brand, clients, and culture. Tiny's role is long-term ownership and shared operational support; client work, hiring, and product decisions stay with the team in New York.
