About Orbit
Orbit builds the Shopify apps that merchants reach for when they want to do more than a theme allows — run a promotion, bundle products, capture emails, or open a wholesale channel. Its apps, including Ultimate Special Offers, Wholesale Club, and Pixelpop, are installed on tens of thousands of stores.
Orbit grew out of Pixel Union's app division. As the apps matured into a business of their own — distinct from theme design, with their own roadmap and subscription revenue — they were spun into a standalone brand and took the Orbit name in 2022.
Orbit operates as part of the WeCommerce operating group, alongside the Shopify theme studios it shares an ecosystem and a customer base with.
Why Orbit fits Tiny
Orbit fits the WeCommerce thesis exactly: subscription software that sits close to a merchant's daily operations and gets harder to remove the longer it runs. An app that manages a store's promotions or wholesale pricing isn't something a merchant swaps out casually.
Tiny's role is long-term ownership and the operational support of being part of a larger group of Shopify-ecosystem businesses. The team continues to build and support the apps merchants depend on.
