Stamped was founded by Tommy Ong as a reviews and loyalty platform for online stores. The product solves a problem every e-commerce merchant runs into: shoppers trust other shoppers more than they trust brand copy, but collecting, moderating, and displaying customer reviews at the moment of purchase is plumbing most stores don't want to build themselves.
The company grew by quietly powering reviews and loyalty programs for thousands of e-commerce brands, most of them on Shopify and similar platforms. By the time of the Tiny acquisition in 2021, Stamped had become one of the standard solutions in the category.
Tiny acquired Stamped as part of its WeCommerce platform, which consolidated a portfolio of Shopify-ecosystem businesses under one operating group. Stamped continues to operate from Toronto and continues to invest in the review-collection, loyalty, and post-purchase tooling that its merchants depend on.
Stamped fits Tiny's preference for unglamorous SaaS plumbing — products that small and mid-sized merchants pay for every month because turning them off would visibly hurt their conversion rate. The category is mature, the customer relationships are sticky, and the unit economics are clean.
Inside WeCommerce, Stamped benefits from operating alongside other Shopify-ecosystem businesses that share a customer base. Tiny's role is long-term ownership; the team continues to build the product.
