Pet supply distributor for stores across the United States.
Based in United States.
Wholesale Pet was founded by Bo Nelson as a B2B marketplace connecting independent pet retailers with the premium brands they stock. Independent pet stores can't compete with big-box chains on price, so they compete on curation — carrying the specialty brands that pet owners will drive across town for. Wholesale Pet is the marketplace that makes that strategy possible: a curated catalog of premium brands and a direct line between the stores and the suppliers, without Wholesale Pet ever holding inventory of its own.
The business is unglamorous in the best way — a steady, profitable marketplace built around long-running relationships with both brand suppliers and retail customers. The category is large, the economics are clean, and the work compounds with time as the network of relationships grows.
Tiny acquired Wholesale Pet in 2024 as part of Tiny Fund I, which holds a portfolio of consumer and small-business holdings.
Marketplaces are a category Tiny is comfortable with: predictable, asset-light, and built on relationships rather than headlines. Wholesale Pet had a clear customer (independent pet retailers), a clear value proposition (premium curation plus a reliable supplier network), and a profitable operating model that didn't need rewriting.
Tiny's role is to provide the long-term ownership structure that lets the team keep growing the network of supplier and retailer relationships at their own pace.
